Fear Sees Faith Coming By Jill Briscoe

Fear Sees Faith Coming By Jill Briscoe

When fear sees faith a-coming, when doubt sees truth displayed,
The truth that is in Jesus how can we be dismayed?
When tears are wept in secret, when sorrow’s night descends,
Then faith in Jesus’ power our sorry soul defends.

When we are busy drowning in a sea of sad despair,
When those we love have hurt us and our soul needs God’s repair,
When loneliness o’er-whelms us with an ache that none can touch,
And we’re crushed with disappointments and life is just too much.

When danger threatens loved ones, when death stalks near to home,
When war shall rise against us, when panic’s on the throne,
Remind us of your promises, renew our hearts in grace,
And help us live in righteousness and truth before your face.

So Jesus be our comfort and remind us in your Word,
That our small voice in the tempest incredibly is heard,
In the heaven you inhabit, in the love land where you live,
And you travel through the universe, your peace to us to give!

So we wait now in this stillness that garrisons our soul,
Yes, we wait with hands uplifted till you come and make us whole,
So when faith sees fear a-coming to fill our hearts with dread,
Oh Lord Jesus great and mighty, will you please kill fear dead!

Down In My Life by Jill Briscoe

Down In My Life by Jill Briscoe

Down in my life where it’s restless and wild,

Down in my life where the adult’s a child,

Down in my fears and worries and care

Suddenly Jesus is there.

Touching my heart strings He sings me a song,

Quiets the child till she’s steady and strong,

Banishes worries – just smiles them away

Turning my night into day.

Down in my life where the troubles run deep,

Down in my life when I can’t get to sleep,

Down in my life when life isn’t fair,

Suddenly Jesus is there.

Rebuking the turmoil; He sends it away,

Gives peace in the panic and helps me to pray,

Turns sorrow to praising, surprises my pain,

And bids me to face life again.

Down in my life where I’m lonely and old,

Deep in my heart when my spirit is cold,

Down in my life when I don’t know what’s best

Suddenly Jesus gives rest.

“Gift doesn’t age” He remarks with a smile,

“I’ll set your soul dancing and make life worthwhile,

I’ll guide you in righteousness: wisdom’s delight:

And nerve your faint heart for the fight.”

He stands in my shadows and the light on His face

Reflects all His love and His mercy and grace

Right down in my life where nobody goes:

Deep in “this” heart the Lord knows.

Down in my life where it’s restless and wild,

Down in my life where the adult’s a child,

Down in my soul I’m acutely aware

Suddenly Jesus is there!

Changes

Changes

Here she stands, my mother for 22 years. As I look at her, I sense that someone has wound the clock.Years have become increments. History has a beginning and an end. Then mothers arms wrap me in warmth, and I am home. A 22 yea-old child reassured by her mother’s touch. There is no time in touch. I am pulled into timelessness. Our laughter drowns out the clock. There is no time in laughter.

For a moment I forget ticking clocks. I am held together by things that do not change–a mothers early morning welcome, freshly cooked meals, laughter, and love. I am held together by a God who does not change. I know the God of time who is yet above time. A rare glimpse of the divine.

Contentment

Contentment

For most of life, I think we fight God. We keep trying to show him what we were made for. We keep giving him better ideas. We keep working for something bigger and greater than anything he seems to have in mind for any of us. By the time we are in mid-life, we feel we somehow have missed out on some of the great things we were born for.

I come to you however, knowing God made me not to impress you. Not to be perfect or a genius. Not to make millions! God made me to be uncomplicated in my faith. To take your hand regardless of who you are or how you look.To listen to you. To accept you right where you are. To love you unconditionally just like he does. God made me to be real. To be honest. To be open.To never compare myself to you, but to strive to become my own best person. In the midst of all that..Im here to help you find him and build a relationship with him. You got to want it.

Depression

Depression

When you are feeling down and depressed like you dont know what to do with yourself or you feel like giving up…its time to pray…if you feel like you dont know what to say in your prayers…here are some scriptures that help with depression. Remember that you are not in this alone. When you decide to go to God your starting in the right place..Go to a moment of quietness and seek the presence of God. Only he can bring order to your confusion, encouragement to your dreary heart. His limits are infinite…and his love is inexhaustible.

Encouraging Scriptures

Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” God tells us to seek him and his kingdom FIRST. This means that we put him in front of EVERYTHING in our lives. When we do that, the things that we want, that abundant life, our desires, will come to us later. Seeking his kingdom is the most important thing right now, because we need to be in right standing with God, we need to make sure we have a set relationship and foundation with him.

Ephesians 3:16-21 “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory; to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” This scripture speaks for itself..no need to explain here…

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” This scripture is clearly stated as well. You can do ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THROUGH JESUS YOUR STRENGTH COMES FROM HIM. Do not doubt God…there is nothing he cannot do. Believe it.

Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

2 Thessalonians 3:2 “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” Here God is telling you that he is faithful and that he will keep you from evil. The question is…will you allow him to? The question is..Do you have faith in him enough to believe that he will protect you?

Do You Have A Relationship With God?

Do You Have A Relationship With God?

Hello everyone! This post is about having a relationship with God. First of all, everyone knows that as a start of having a relationship with God you have to believe in him for who he is. To believe in him means to trust in, rely on, and adhere to. When you believe in something you trust that everything is going to work out. When you rely on something you are depending on it to workout. When you adhere to something you are listening for it clinging to it wanting to be in the presence of it. It works the same way with God, believing in him is trusting that he is going to do what he do and take care of whatever needs to be taken care of; you trust that he is not going to let you down or ever leave your side; you trust that he hears you when you pray. Believing in him is depending on God for EVERYTHING and ANYTHING, letting him take control of your life because you believe that it is already mapped out. The things that God wants for you you want them to. Believing in him is seeking him first before going to anyone else because you know he is trust worthy and that he is faithful. Believing in God is believing everything about him everything that he does and everything that he says and just going with. Believing in him is having faith in him knowing that even when it doesnt look like anything you hold on to it. Thats the first step. The next step is believing that he had a solution to the worlds problem. What was that solution? He decided to put himself in the form of a man and make himself known to everyone. That making himself known that everyone would believe on him and follow him…believe on the only name that has authority and the only named in which we are saved under: JESUS Once you believe that and confess with your mouth you are saved. There you go…you have started your relationship. Third thing, now its time to give your life over to him and start pressing toward that mark…the goal…the mandate. What is the mandate for all believers? Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and these things shall be added unto you” When your seeking him first and always first along with his kingdom you dont have to worry about those other things in life….they will come along…the question is how do you know that your seeking his kingdom and his righteousness….start with getting born again of water and spirit. Whaaaaat? What does that mean? Heres your answer: John 3:5 “Jesus answered, Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” What does being born of water mean? Being baptized. When you believe that Jesus died for your sins and already paid that price….its time to die with him. Being baptized into Christ is an important part of this life…How are you baptized into Christ? Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” When you go down in that water you die with him, and every single sin youve ever had, have and will have have been washed away. When you raise up out that water you are a new creature and everything becomes new. Why be baptized in the name of Jesus?? Acts 4:12 “Neither is their salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”  Now what is the Holy Ghost? The Holy Ghost is your comforter who was sent when Jesus went away…the spirit of adoption…Having that spirit lets you know for sure that you are his! How do you know? Romans 8:8-9 “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” Also everyone who is born again..of water and the Spirit have a heavenly language that they pray to talk to God…thats really personall…Being baptized with the Holy Ghost you will speak in tongues (a language that is NOT english and not natural). How do you know? Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” What that means is that they began to speak in another lanugage and the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression in each tongue and appropriate words. Also look at this Acts 2:6 AMP “And when the sound was heard, the multitude came together and they were astonished and bewildered, because each one heard them(the apostles) speaking in his own particular dialect” So you can clearly see there that thas a start of what to do…After all that is done just make sure love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Thats the first and GREATEST command…and the next one is to love your neighbor as yourself. Continue to go about your life….everyday continuing to seek God, praying in the natural and in the Spirit daily, meditating and reading his Word….striving to be like him, go out tell people about Jesus winning souls for the kingdom…praying for others and healing them…casting out the things that appear evil….Make sure you are renewing your mind daily…because the times are evil…Renew your mind daily and do not love the things of this world..or conform to it Romans 12:2...You are not your own anymore…You belong to God….Produce the fruits of the Spirit…people will know you by your fruits…this life aint easy….but when its all said and done…the important thing is to maintain that relationship with God…when its all said and done all the believers want to hear God say “well done”

Having The Heart To Give/Deal With Family

Having The Heart To Give/Deal With Family

This post is about 2 things: giving and family. Lets talk about family for a second. I have a sister…..who has been feeling a certain about certain people since she was a little girl. Those people are my parents and part of it includes me. As you know my sister is older than me by 4 years clearly she was born before me. Heres the problem: She feels as if we dont love her and if we do she cant see it. She believes that I am spoiled only because she thinks that she have never gotten the same treatment that I have received from my parents. She says all she ever wanted was to feel like she has a family that loves and cares for her. Because she feels the way she feels she feels like she doesnt need to be surrounded by people that dont care for her. She would rather give her attention to other people and dismiss her family. As for me…she feels that I dont respect her as my big sister or an adult for that matter. I tell her thats not true. I have tried being there for her, talking to her, hanging out with her, etc. Previously growing up with her it didnt happen that way….I may have acted a certain way to keep from following in her footsteps as i was younger because of what my parents told me all my life….I cant put my sisters mistakes on the internet…nor mine as well…all I say is awhile back I was a big mess…and her? Well shes still in her ways a little bit and refuses to change. She has her mind made up. In the year of 2010 I decided to change and give my life to Christ…..ever since then Ive been trying to put my family back together in which I feel is broken. I feel like no one is cooperating with me….My sister believes that she does not need to get her hopes up…she thinks my parents wont change….I do admit….my parents have ways that eat me up inside…but I pray for them as well as my sister….but nothing seems to be happening yet…except the fact that everyone is trying to come together and be a family again…like we used to…but its happening so slowly….w/o the participation of my sister….I believe what opened everyones eyes is this…I had a fiance who loved and adored me….he recently passed back in January….so suddenly…one minute he was talking to me…the next hes gone in my arms…and I have been tryin to live with that night every day of my life since then….I think we all decided that life is too short for all the grudges, bad treatment and bickering….We now see the only thing that matters is whats happening now….and right now? My family is broken..and I am doing my best to put everything back in place…..A long time ago someone told me that I would be the bridge for my family…..The problem is…Im still waiting for this to fall into place…All I know is…I cant lose patience…and I refuse to lose faith….The minute I do that….everything will fall apart and get worse….I cant let that happen….I got to keep pressing toward the mark. Let God do the rest. He hears me……He knows what this family needs…

Encouraging Words

Encouraging Words

If you dont know who God is let me tell you who he is and what he has done for this world. He is the the world who created you in the first place. He is someone who is going to listen to you when you need him to and you only have to mention it once…he hears you. He is a God who loved and still loves you in spite of you and the things that you have done will do and is still doing. He hears the cry of those of are broken and contrite and wanna do right. He hears the prayers of the upright and delights in those prayers. God loves when he is magnified and glorified in your every day life in everything that you do. That’s why he tells us to give thanks in all that we do and receive because if it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have any of those things. God is a God of unconditional, infinite, and everlasting, love ,joy, peace, and mercy. Every day you wake up you receive new mercies. Every day you wake up you ought to say “THANK YOU LORD!” because it was him that woke you up in the first place, not your alarm clock, not a phone call, not someone yelling in your ear, not someone having to kick and slap you because you sleep deeply. NO! It was God always will be God and no one else. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. HE DOES NOT CHANGE. He is the one that can turn your life around. He can take a murderer and turn him into a strong devoted man of God. He can take a prostitute and turn him or her into a strong devoted child of God. God reminds us every day of who he is and what he does, and what he has done and what he will do! There is no stopping him because hes on the move! God always move! Hes expecting you to move to. Hes a God who can take your nightmares and turn them into sweet and pleasant dreams. How are you able to eat? God. How are you able to have clothes to wear? God. How are you able to have water to drink and not get sick? God How did you get the car and house that you got? God. EVERYTHING GOOD AND PERFECT THING COMES FROM HIM. EVERYTHING YOU HAVE, EVERYTHING YOU WILL EVER RECEIVE COMES FROM HIM. HIS THOUGHTS OF YOU ARE GOOD AND NOT EVIL! Please remember that. Hes doing all these things for the ones he love and even more. He made the BIGGEST sacrifice and that sacrifice will always and forever be unfeigned and no one can top this….you want to know what that sacrifice was if you don’t already know? HE DIED FOR YOU. HE SENT HIMSELF DOWN HERE IN THE FORM OF A MAN TO TAKE CRUELTY, BEATINGS, TORTURE, AND UNBELIEF AND DOUBT…PURE DEATH HE DEMONSTRATED HIS LOVE FOR THE WORLD WHEN HE SENT A MAN AND CALLED HIM JESUS. HE DIDN’T HAVE TO DO IT BUT HE DID…TO TAKE ON THE SINS OF THE WORLD SO YOU WOULDN’T HAVE TO! ITS BEEN DONE AND PAID FOR! Can you do that??? NO. Did he do that? YES.  Before he did what he did he made sure that there were people who gave their life up to follow him so that he can set an example for us to follow. He prepared them so they can prepare us. His followers. His apostles. He created a new covenant…that covenant was in remembrance of him…what he done…his blood and his broken body. He left us to love one another as he has loved us…and to love him with all our heart, mind, and soul…with all that we have. He came to give us LIFE. THERE IS NO LIFE WITHOUT JESUS. THE ONLY WAY TO GET TO THE FATHER IS THROUGH HIM. Now what kind of God would do this for me? for us? for the world? THIS GOD. JESUS. JEHOVAH. LORD OF LORDS. KING OF KINGS. MIGHTY GOD. EVERLASTING FATHER. AND THAT AINT ALL. WE HAVE A COMFORTED THAT HE SENT FOR US! YES LORD THE HOLY GHOST! OUR GUIDE…SO THAT WE WOULD KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE! NEVER WILL BE!  So if you dont know who God is by now……You need to open up that bible and get to reading! Thank you!
